answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/12/2014 answer text <p>The UN declared a state of emergency in Gaza after heavy rain led to flooding. 100,000 people remain displaced, 19,000 of whom are still sheltering in UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) schools, after the 52 day war of this summer and are in need of immediate assistance. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/12/2014 answer text We have not raised this UN report with the Israeli authorities, but are working with them to ensure continued smooth access to Gaza for UK medical professionals as part of the Department for International Development's Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) programme. The EU continues to urge the parties to fully implement the temporary mechanism for monitoring and verification of reconstruction materials negotiated by the UN, Palestinian Authority and Israel, as an important step towards the necessary urgent opening of all crossing points. The UK and EU do fund projects aimed at supporting Palestinian state building.
