answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/12/2014 answer text <p>The Government's clear message is that human rights are universal and should apply equally to all people. <br><br>We believe that the international community must address all forms of discrimination, including on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, and we must also promote respect for diversity. Work in combating violence and discrimination against LGBT people forms an important part of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's wider international human rights work. <br><br>The British Embassy in Tel Aviv has marched in the Gay Pride parades in Tel Aviv over recent years. At this year's march, Her Majesty's Ambassador to Israel spoke at the large public gathering and referred to Israel becoming a more tolerant society over the past decade. <br><br>We are deeply concerned about the treatment of the LGBT community in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, particularly in Gaza where they are subject to widespread social discrimination for cultural and religious reasons. Homosexuality remains a taboo subject in the OPTs. In some places, such as Ramallah, these taboos are relaxed, but in more conservative areas the situation is very challenging. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/12/2014 answer text <p>The current security situation and the deliberate blocking of aid by ISIL have made it extremely difficult for us or our partners to access ISIL controlled areas.</p><p> </p><p>We condemn the brutal human rights abuses perpetrated by ISIL, including reports of the trafficking and kidnapping of Yezidi women. The UK government is committed, as part of an international coalition, to degrade and ultimately defeat ISIL.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>UK humanitarian aid has been helping many victims who have managed to escape ISIL’s atrocities, including through the protection of vulnerable groups and through meeting the specific needs of displaced women and girls. AQAP has been a vocal critic of ISIL’s rise. It recently issued a public statement condemning ISIL’s ‘Caliphate’ in Syria and Iraq, as well as criticising its use of brutal tactics. They are terrorising people from many minority groups in areas under their control including Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people. The Government strongly condemns any and all abuses or violations of human rights. <br><br>We are supporting the Government of Iraq as they work to deliver a unified response against ISIL.
