answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/01/2019 answer text <p>We welcome the publication of final report of the independent review of the Mental Health Act 1983, which was commissioned by the Prime Minister.</p><p> </p><p>The Government will consider the report and its recommendations in detail and respond in due course. We remain committed to reforming mental health law and have committed to develop and bring forward legislation when Parliamentary time allows.</p><p> </p><p>We have already accepted two of the recommendations of the review; the establishment of new statutory advance choice documents, so that people’s wishes and preferences carry far more legal weight, and the creation of a new role of ‘nominated person’ to be chosen by the patient to replace the current nearest relative provisions. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2019 answer text <p>In line with its commitments in the Long Term Plan, NHS England will be testing four-week waiting times for adult and older adult community mental health teams, with selected local areas. This will help build NHS England’s understanding of how best to introduce ambitious but achievable improvements in access, quality of care and outcomes. Clear standards will then be set for patients requiring access to community mental health treatment and rolled out across the National Health Service over the next decade.</p><p> </p><p>Waiting time standards are already in place for Early Intervention in Psychosis. 76.2% of patients with first episode psychosis started treatment within two weeks in November 2018. These are for early intervention in psychosis, urgent and emergency liaison mental health services, services for children and young people with eating disorders, Improving Access to Psychological Therapies pathway for long term conditions, and the perinatal mental health pathway.</p><p> </p><p>Two more pathways, those focusing on crisis and acute mental health, and children and young people’s mental health care, are under development.</p><p> </p><p>The remaining pathways are being reviewed to ensure they align with the new commitments and direction set out in the NHS Long Term Plan. NHS England has not confirmed the date of publication for these remaining pathways.</p><p> </p><p>The NHS Long Term Plan has committed to specific waiting times targets for emergency mental health services which will take effect for the first time from 2020, and will be set to align with the equivalent targets for emergency physical health services. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/12/2018 answer text <p>The Government is committed to supporting services to deliver the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) access and waiting time standards.</p><p> </p><p>The latest data indicates that the National Health Service is exceeding the waiting time target of at least 60% of patients accessing EIP services within two weeks by 2020/21. In September 2018, 76.1% of patients were accessing the services within this time frame.</p><p> </p><p>On the element of the standard on access to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)-concordant care, NHS England gathers and compiles data on rates of access to NICE-recommended treatments through EIP services for people experiencing first episode psychosis.
