<p>While we have not discussed this specific situation with the Israeli authorities,
we have made it clear that any forcible transfer would be a breach of international
humanitarian law and would have serious ramifications on Israel's international standing.
Together with EU partners, we continue to urge the Israeli Government to meet its
obligations regarding the living conditions of the Bedouin population in Area C, including
by halting forced transfer of population and demolition of Bedouin housing and infrastructure,
ensuring access to water and addressing humanitarian needs.</p><p>On 3 November, the
Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Hon. Friend
the Member for Bournemouth East (Mr Ellwood), met Abu Khamis, leader of the Khan al
Ahmar Bedouin community, and an official from the United Nations Relief and Works
Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, to discuss the situation in Area C.</p>
