answer text <p>Sexual harassment is completely unacceptable - both inside and outside the workplace - and unlawful under the Equality Act 2010 and Protection from Harassment Act 1997.</p><p> </p><p>We are working with the Equality and Human Rights Commission on a new statutory code of practice on sexual harassment, due this year. This will help all employers better understand the law on this issue, and should enable them to better identify and prevent sexual harassment.</p><p> </p><p>We are also helping Acas update the guidance it provides on sexual harassment in the workplace.</p> more like this

answer text <p>DWP takes any suggestions of workplace bullying in any form very seriously.</p><br /><p>All employees are required to report instances of bullying and seek support through our internal HR Support teams. In the first instance they are directed to our dedicated HR Mediation and Investigation Service. These trained professionals are able to assist managers and employees in resolving workplace disputes including complaints of Harassment, Discrimination and Bullying.</p><br /><p>Immediate telephone support for individuals is available through our Employee Assistance Programme. Employees contacting the service because of bullying receive extra support and counselling. This service is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.</p><br /><p>Where problems have been identified we have also been able to arrange specific Bullying and Harassment awareness sessions aimed directly at managers, with positive results.</p><br /><p>During this year’s anti bullying week all employees were reminded of the support and guidance available.</p>

answer text <p>DWP does not tolerate bullying in any form.</p><br /><p>Guidance on our approach to dealing with and managing bullying is available to all employees and managers, and our policy is that all cases of bullying should be reported.</p><br /><p>DWP capture absence data in a format that is standard across the Civil Service, which is by absence ‘type’. Each absence may have a number of underlying causes, therefore it is not possible to estimate the number of days of work lost because of bullying. Nevertheless, DWP’s current Average Working Days Lost stands at 6.28 which is the lowest it has been in the last 12 months, and down substantially compared to 5 years ago when it stood at 8.2.</p><br /> more like this
