answer text <p>The GOV.UK One Login customer support centre went live on 31 October 2023. Between that date and 25 March 2024 (inclusive), it has handled a total of 21,623 support calls and managed 12,585 support requests via online forms and emails.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>From 16 April 2024, users will also have the option of using WebChat to seek support.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The public expects quick, secure and user-friendly access to government services. Previously, UK citizens and residents needed to grapple with multiple sign-in methods and identity verification routes when using government services online.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>GOV.UK One Login is replacing these duplicative systems across government with a single account and identity checking system. This will make it easier for users to access the services they need, reduce costs to government, and provide stronger protections against fraud.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Government Digital Service (GDS) tested an early prototype of a Large Language Model (LLM) powered chatbot (GOV.UK Chat) in December 2023. Feedback, and the quality of answers provided, were analysed from 200 users.</p><p>Nearly 70% of users found the prototype-generated responses to be useful and the answers were assessed to be accurate 80% of the time.</p><p><strong><br></strong>Ensuring the highest level of accuracy and efficiency is a priority, which is why the next phase of development and testing will focus on how to improve accuracy of the model and explore how users could best discover and use the service.<strong><br></strong></p> more like this

answer text <p>Government has committed to ensuring that assistance is always available for those who need it. All Government departments and agencies are required to be compliant with HMG’s ‘Service Standard’ available at this link: https://www.gov.uk/service-manual/service-standard. Specifically, point 5 of the Service Standard requires that government services are accessible to all users, including disabled people, people with other legally protected characteristics, people who do not have access to the internet and those who lack the skills or confidence to use the internet. This includes being accessible to those without a mobile device. Compliance to this standard is measured through regular Service Assessments.</p><p>In addition, the Government Digital Service in the Cabinet Office runs GOV.UK Pay - a free service available to public sector organisations, enabling them to take card payments. answer text <p>Government Departments have processes in place to ensure users seeking information from Government Departments are not diverted to fee-charging or misleading websites.</p><p>We work to ensure that government information and services are correctly listed and rank highly in search engine results so that they are easy for people to find and identify as government information and services.</p><p>We also challenge sites that pay for prominent positioning in search returns, by reporting them to the relevant search provider.</p><p>If fee-charging websites are operating outside of legal boundaries, we will pursue site owners through trading standards bodies or legal challenge.</p><p><a href="http://gov.uk/" target="_blank">GOV.UK</a> is the government's website and online brand.
