On 13 August, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that the UK Government would guarantee CAP Pillar 1 payments throughout the UK until 2020. On the 3rd October, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that the UK Government would guarantee CAP Pillar 2 funding for rural development policies, including agri-environment schemes signed before the Autumn Statement and those signed after the Autumn Statement providing they are in line with strategic domestic priorities and are good value for money. At the same time, we are keen to use the opportunities that departure presents to set our own priorities. The Chancellor has announced that the Treasury will guarantee structural and investment fund bids which are signed before the UK leaves the EU. This includes funding for projects agreed after the Autumn Statement, if they represent good value for money, and if they are in line with the government’s strategic priorities, even if these projects continue beyond the UK’s departure from the EU.</p><p>Leaving the EU means we will want to take our own decisions about how to deliver the policy objectives previously targeted by EU funding. The long-term relationship between the UK and the EIB will need to be resolved as part of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.</p><p> </p><p>The Chancellor of the Exchequer is the UK Governor of the European Investment Bank and continues to fulfil his governance duties. The Chancellor continues to meet his European counterparts on a regular basis to discuss a range of issues.</p><p> </p><p>The EIB publish all loans made to UK borrowers as well as details on all future projects yet to be financed. Between 2013 and 2015, the UK received €20.7bn in EIB financing.
