answer text <p>The Government is committed to introducing this important piece of legislation to Parliament, as announced in the King’s Speech on 7 November.</p><p>The Government launched a public consultation on the requirements within the Standard Tier, which closed on 18 March. We are currently reviewing the consultation findings to ensure that all feedback is fully considered and that the measures included in Martyn’s Law are proportionate, and that they do not place an undue burden on premises within scope.</p><p>We will introduce the Bill as soon as parliamentary time allows, and I am happy to write to the Honourable Member and Parliament once the Bill is introduced.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government intends to launch a public consultation on the proposed amendments to the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill’s Standard Tier. Premises that fall within the Standard Tier are smaller, with a capacity of 100 to 799 e.g. many retail stores, bars, restaurants, theatres and village halls.</p><p>The Government is launching this consultation to ensure the Bill strikes the right balance between protecting the public and avoiding undue burdens on smaller premises. The consultation will also provide those impacted by the Bill with an opportunity to offer in-depth views on the Standard Tier.</p><p>We intend to launch the consultation shortly and it will be live for 6 weeks. I will write to the Honourable Member and Parliament once the consultation is live.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government is grateful to the Home Affairs Commitee for the pre-legislative scrutiny undertaken. We remain committed to introducing the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill in this session of Parliament. The Bill which was announced in the King’s Speech on Tuesday 7th November.</p><p>Ahead of introduction, we will soon launch a public consultation on proposed amendments to the Bill’s Standard Tier, in light of the recommendations from HASC and wider engagement activity. We recognise the Bill must strike the right balance between public protection and avoiding undue burdens on smaller premises.</p><p>The Government is carefully considering its response to the Home Affairs Select Committee, which will be provided alongside a Government response to the consultation.</p><p> </p> more like this

As you will be aware, the draft Bill has undertaken pre-legislative scrutiny through the Home Affairs Select Committee who published their report on 27 July.</p><p>We thank the committee for their diligent review of the draft measures and for the evidence sessions they hosted.
