Disability Members receive two training days and Medical Members three because they also deal with Employment and Support Allowance as well as Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance. The most recently appointed Disability Qualified Members completed their induction training in October. If the dispute is about eligibility to a higher rate and/or different component, as long as eligibility exists, the relevant component will remain in payment during the appeal phase. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/09/2018 answer text <p>The Ministry of Justice is in the process of recruiting extra fee-paid judicial office holders. In the Social Security and Child Support (SSCS) jurisdiction, which is the part of the tribunal system which deals with disability living allowance appeals, 226 new medical members have already been appointed and up to 125 disability-qualified members are currently being recruited. The SSCS jurisdiction will also benefit from the fact that 250 judges are being recruited across tribunals more widely. In addition, we are developing a new digital system to enable speedier processing of appeals and provide a better service for all parties to the proceedings. These include entitlement to, or rate of payment of, a particular benefit. However, the issue specified in Question 130495 (and 132503) - “withdrawal” of disability living allowance or personal independence payment - is not included in the list of categories recorded.
