answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/05/2018 answer text <p>We continue to work closely with the aerospace sector, particularly through the Aerospace Growth Partnership, on areas such as R&amp;D, innovation, supply chain competitiveness, and skills to make the UK a leading, attractive environment for investment for the global industry. In the case of Boeing, we have been working closely with it, as part of the Long Term Partnering Initiative for UK Prosperity and Growth, launched in July 2016. Boeing continues to grow its UK footprint with currently over 2,200 direct employees. Ministers from the Ministry of Defence and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy are meeting regularly with the company to monitor progress. For example, Boeing and the Government are working together to build a new £100 million P-8A facility at RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland, creating more than 100 new jobs. Boeing has also announced further investments in the UK, including establishing its first European factory in Sheffield. Furthermore, the Government and Boeing are working with UK suppliers to increase opportunities on future global programmes. This includes a recent event in Seattle aimed at showcasing the capabilities of UK companies to Boeing engineers and supply chain managers. Contracts are also held with the Boeing subsidiaries Aviation Training International Ltd and Jeppesen UK Ltd amounting to £415.91 million and £6.59 million respectively.</p><p>The proportion of work by value carried out in the UK is around 53 per cent.
