<p>The CEDAW Committee published their concluding observations in March 2019, following
submission of the UK’s eighth periodic report and examination. We are grateful to
the Committee for their consideration. We take our CEDAW responsibilities seriously
and will be reporting our progress to the Committee in due course.</p><p>Non-governmental
and civil society organisations play an important role in the reporting and examination
process, and representatives from the Government Equalities Office meet with them
regularly.</p><p>The Government has invested over £750 million in the charity sector
so that they can continue their vital work through the COVID-19 outbreak. This includes
£10 million funding for charities providing safe accommodation for victims of domestic
abuse and £15 million for 2020/21 from the Tampon Tax Fund.</p>
