answer text
While we have not discussed this specific situation with the Israeli authorities, we have made it clear that any forcible transfer would be a breach of international humanitarian law and would have serious ramifications on Israel's international standing. Together with EU partners, we continue to urge the Israeli Government to meet its obligations regarding the living conditions of the Bedouin population in Area C, including by halting forced transfer of population and demolition of Bedouin housing and infrastructure, ensuring access to water and addressing humanitarian needs.

On 3 November, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Hon. Friend the Member for Bournemouth East (Mr Ellwood), met Abu Khamis, leader of the Khan al Ahmar Bedouin community, and an official from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, to discuss the situation in Area C.
more like this
