answer text <p>The Government is committed to supporting our grassroots music venues, which are the lifeblood and research and development centres of our world-leading music sector.</p><p>The Music Venues Trust created Music Venue Properties and launched the ‘Own Our Venues’ campaign in June 2022. The campaign is currently raising funds to take control of the freeholds of music venue premises and bring them under a protected status of benevolent ownership. The Government is supportive of this industry-led initiative and welcomes the sector seeking solutions to ensure the longevity of the UK’s beloved music venues. Minister Lopez is meeting Music Venues Trust shortly to discuss issues facing the live music sector, and how to support growth of the music sector and wider Creative Industries.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Government recognises the impact of increased costs on small businesses and is freezing the business rates multiplier for another year, worth £9.3 billion over the next 5 years. Small to medium sized businesses will have also benefitted from a range of government measures, including reversal of the National Insurance rise, cut to fuel duty for 24 months, support via the Energy Bill Relief Scheme and an increase in the Employment Allowance to £5,000.</p> more like this

answer text <p>At Spring Budget, the Government announced a wide-ranging package to break down barriers to work, unshackle business investment and tackle labour shortages head on. It included a new ‘Returnerships’ apprenticeship targeted at the over 50s, refining existing skills programmes to enable older workers to find a recognisable path back into work. The Chancellor also announced expansions to Sector-Based Work Academies and Skills Bootcamps, both existing and highly-successful skills programmes.</p><p>The Government is also backing six Private Members Bills to help new parents, unpaid carers, hospitality workers, giving all employees easier access to flexible working, and giving workers’ a right to request a more predictable working pattern.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government works to secure business investment in sectors across the economy which brings jobs and prosperity to communities across the UK, for example through the £1.4bn Global Britain Investment Fund (GBIF). In 2021 FDI topped £2 Trillion for the first time.</p><p> </p><p>Our High Potential Opportunities programme selects key opportunities to promote to foreign investors, driving investment into the UK’s regions and nations. My Department set up the Office for Investment in early 2021 to support a small number of the highest profile investments coming into the UK; and in October, the UK will host a second Global Investment Summit.</p> more like this
