answer text <p>A number of activities are being undertaken to extend the out of service date of the RAF's C-130J/C-130J-30 fleet to 2035. Work commenced in March this year to replace the centre wing sections of the aircraft. In addition, work is scheduled to commence next year to replace the current steel brakes with carbon ones, and additional modifications will also be made to upgrade aircraft avionics systems.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The MOD has programmed a comprehensive response to the Infrastructure and Project Authority's red status of the delivery confidence for the Warrior capability sustainment programme. The status was first designated 20 months ago, and the Department expects the full impact of the changes that have since been made to the programme will be reflected in the IPA's next annual report. Improvements to the realism of scheduling have led to key programme milestones being met in the past year, such as live firing crew clearance and successful battlefield mission assessments.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Home Office is committed to ensuring that our immigration removal cen-tre (IRC) suppliers provide a high level of service to detainees while also providing value for money to the taxpayer. With regards to our suppliers’ staff, we require all our suppliers to put systems in place to fulfil a duty of care to their employees to ensure the wellbeing and resilience of their staff throughout their tenure in the IRC.</p><p>In line with other contractual agreements, IRC suppliers are required to meet set service standards, including ensuring minimum staffing levels are met.</p><p>The new contract to manage the IRCs at Gatwick will set high expectations for the quality of management and staffing in key elements of the estate.</p><p>Information on numbers of IRC staff is not centrally recorded in the format requested.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments allows for additional activities, including contracts, to be taken forward. The next steps include development of a joint acquisition road map, identifying technologies to spiral from Gripen and Typhoon onto an future combat air system, research and technology co-operation and further Government and industry studies, particularly on cost modelling. These steps will inform both Governments' decision-making process. For the UK, the next decision to be made is in quarter four of financial year 2020-21, following submission of the Outline Business Case.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Last year’s loneliness strategy, ‘A Connected Society: A strategy for tackling loneliness - laying the foundations for change’, sets out almost 60 new commitments from nine government departments. Many of these commitments are targeted at tackling loneliness among children and young people.</p><p> </p><p>Examples include: teaching all primary and secondary school children in England about loneliness from September 2020 under the new subjects of Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education and supporting young people to look after local green spaces and wildlife habitats, while building social connections, through the #iwill campaign.</p><p> </p><p>Twenty-two of the 126 organisations funded through the £11.5m Building Connections Fund (delivered in partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund and the Co-op Foundation) are working specifically with young people at risk of loneliness. We are also working with the Office for National Statistics and other external partners to improve the evidence base on youth loneliness.</p><p> </p>

The Department has currently no plan to publish the report of that incomplete attempt.</p><p>In addition, acting on advice from the Independent Expert Advisory Panel, the Government has commissioned research to support further understanding of the fire performance of non-Aluminium Composite Materials (ACM) external wall systems.
