record system as of 30 June 2017, with the exception of those marked with * which
have been taken from the MOJ Quarterly Statistics Bulletin for the same month. The
offender may have more than one of the listed disability types. As the NPS records
information on learning disabilities and autism based on self-reporting, the data
cannot be taken to give a complete picture of the prevalence of learning disability
and autism amongst sex offenders in custody or supervised by NPS in the community.
Sex offenders on licence are subject to a strict set of conditions, and any offender
who fails to comply risks being returned to prison or, if convicted of further offences,
