The offender may have more than one of the listed disability types. As the NPS records information on learning disabilities and autism based on self-reporting, the data cannot be taken to give a complete picture of the prevalence of learning disability and autism amongst sex offenders in custody or supervised by NPS in the community. Sex offenders on licence are subject to a strict set of conditions, and any offender who fails to comply risks being returned to prison or, if convicted of further offences, facing further punishment.</p></td></tr></tbody></table>
