Friend the Secretary of State for Health is committed to ensuring that patients with mental health conditions can receive treatment as close as possible to where they live. Inappropriate out of area placements are unacceptable and the Government has set a target to eliminate these in non-specialist, acute mental health care by 2020/21.</p><p> </p><p>To support the delivery of this ambition, in October 2016 the Government put in place the first data collection to secure much-needed national transparency on the number of patients that are sent out of their local area for acute inpatient treatment.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is using this new data to support local health systems to develop and deliver trajectories to eliminate inappropriate out of area placements.</p><p> </p><p>More than £400 million which has been made available for investment in mental health crisis resolution home treatment teams over the next four years, enabling them to provide 24/7 crisis response and intensive home treatment as a genuine alternative to admission where appropriate.</p><p> </p><p>Shared learning and best-practice advice on reducing out of area placements through improved system capacity management will be included in acute care commissioning guidance.</p> answering member constituency Thurrock answering member printed Jackie Doyle-Price question first answered 07/07/2017 09:57:21 answering member 4065 label Biography information for Dame Jackie Doyle-Price

These are devastating crimes, and we are committed to ensuring that every victim has access to the specialist support they need, and that everything is done to bring offenders to justice. We want every report of rape to be treated seriously from the point of disclosure, every victim to be treated with dignity and every investigation and prosecution to be conducted thoroughly and professionally.</p><p> </p><p>Our cross-Government violence against women and girls (VAWG) strategy recognises that some sectors of society, such as Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, can experience additional barriers to accessing support.</p><p> </p><p>We have pledged increased funding of £100 million through to 2020 to support our commitment to tackling VAWG, including protecting funding to 85 Rape Support Centres and a new £17m VAWG Service Transformation Fund.</p><p> </p><p>This increased funding and our support for local areas to improve commissioning will help to ensure that the needs of BAME victims are met through specialist support.</p> answering member constituency Truro and Falmouth answering member printed Sarah Newton question first answered 10/07/2017 16:19:25 answering member 4071 label Biography information for Sarah Newton

The appalling attacks in Manchester and London, just as previous attacks such as in Sousse, Tunisia, demonstrate how vital it is that support is available to victims and their families.</p><p> </p><p>In 2017, we established a cross-HMG Victims of Terrorism unit to co-ordinate support to UK citizens directly affected by terrorist events at home or overseas. It is working across Government, the voluntary sector and with local authorities to ensure that support to victims of terrorism is comprehensive, coordinated and clearly communicated.</p><p> </p><p>We have developed gov.uk webpages</p><p>(see <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/terror-attacks-support-for-people-affected" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/terror-attacks-support-for-people-affected</a>) to provide comprehensive advice to victims and to signpost them to support services in the UK. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/07/2017 answer text <p>The UK condemns Daesh's destruction of historical and religious buildings in Iraq, whether they be archaeological sites, churches, mosques or temples.</p><p>The UK's Cultural Protection Fund of £30 million is designed to build capacity and capability in conflict zones in order to protect cultural heritage. Over £4 million from the fund has been awarded to Iraq across four projects. £3 million of this has been allocated to the British Museum's Rescue Archaeology Project. This project supplements the skills of a team of Iraqi national heritage sector workers to assess and record the condition of heritage sites and carry out rescue archaeology as a preliminary to reconstruction at sites damaged by Daesh. The first cohort of Iraqi archaeologists completed their training in 2016 and the second cohort completed their training earlier this year in London.</p><p>The UK is also funding: the University of Manchester, working with the State Board for Antiquities and Heritage in Iraq, to survey and document the pre-Islamic Alexandrian city of Charax, as well as 14 other sites in Iraq; and the University of Liverpool to record, preserve and promote understanding of Yezidi heritage and identity.</p> answering member constituency North East Bedfordshire answering member printed Alistair Burt question first answered 11/07/2017 12:07:39 answering member 1201 label Biography information for Alistair Burt
