It is an integral part of every local authority’s responsibilities to promote the educational achievement of the children it looks after, including through encouraging their curiosity for reading. This includes ensuring that foster carers see the value of and encourage children of all ages to enjoy reading.</p><p> </p><p>In 2015, 120 local authorities took part in BookTrust’s Letterbox Club scheme (<a href="http://www.letterboxclub.org.uk/local-authorities/" target="_blank">http://www.letterboxclub.org.uk/local-authorities/</a>). Both the HBOT specification and guidance on the IFR process can be found at the following links:</p><p><br> <a href="http://www.england.nhs.uk/commissioning/wp-content/uploads/sites/12/2013/10/d11-p-a.pdf" target="_blank">www.england.nhs.uk/commissioning/wp-content/uploads/sites/12/2013/10/d11-p-a.pdf</a></p><p> </p><p>Whilst the results of the Rice University trial are interesting, larger, high quality clinical trials would be needed to demonstrate the efficacy of HBOT in treating fibromyalgia.</p><p> </p><p>Although there is no cure for fibromyalgia, some treatments can ease symptoms and support improved quality of life for patients.
