Barnardos won both parts. The annual cost of the advocacy service at each secure training centre reduced as a result of them being able to make efficiency savings from back office functions. There was no reduction in service.</p><p> </p><p>The lower advocacy costs for Hassockfield STC between July 2014 and June 2015 are a result of the site being decommissioned in 2014. The advocacy service ceased on 21 November 2014.</p>

answer text <p>The relevant termination costs are subject to ongoing commercial discussions. We have spent approximately £21m on programme mobilisation to date. The majority of this was spent on investment in the telecommunications network, mapping software, monitoring service and other programme costs which the MoJ will be able to reuse for ongoing electronic monitoring work.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The safety and welfare of young people in custody is vital and we take all incidents of violence extremely seriously.</p><p> </p><p>A pilot of Body Worn Video Cameras (BWVCs) is currently taking place across <del class="ministerial">24</del><ins class="ministerial">23</ins> prisons, including Cookham Wood, Feltham and Wetherby under -18 Young Offender Institutions.</p><p> </p><p>BWVCs are already in use at all Secure Training Colleges (STCs).</p> more like this

answer text <p>Yes. All young people have the opportunity to speak with a Barnardos advocate without a member of the Secure Training Centre staff being present. Both advocates and monitors can also speak to children confidentially without Secure Training Centre staff being present.</p><p> </p><p>Young people can also contact an advocate directly by calling their helpline number, which is free and available to all children to call in privacy from their rooms.</p> more like this
