unstar this property answer text <p /> <p>The number of investigations into prison imams completed between 1 January 2010 and 30 June 2014 was 13, 9 of which resulted in disciplinary action. Figures have not been provided for individual years as the numbers in each year, other than 2013, are five or fewer. The detail cannot be provided to prevent identification or disclosure relating to individual cases. Similarly, information on the alleged breach of conduct and discipline is not being provided for the same reasons.</p><p> </p><p>There are 100 directly employed and also 120 sessional Muslim Chaplains. All employed Chaplains go through a robust recruitment process. Following a competency based application and panel sift there is a three part board consisting of sermon, role play and panel interview. A Chaplain also requires endorsement by their faith community - for Muslim Chaplains this would be the NOMS Muslim Adviser. Sessional Muslim Chaplains are required to have the appropriate Islamic credentials checked by our Muslim Adviser. A disciplinary investigation for an employed Chaplain follows the same process as that for any other NOMS employee.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p /> <p>Access to Work provides practical and financial support with the additional costs faced by individuals whose health or disability affects the way they do their job.</p><p> </p><p>In response to the Sayce review, the government committed to spending an extra £15m on Access to Work by the end of this Spending Review period. Access to Work has been extended to support some pre-employment activity such as Supported Internships, Traineeships and certain work experience. We no longer apply mandatory cost share for small employers and we have removed the list of standard equipment Access to Work will not fund; instead Access to Work advisers are working constructively with employers and employees to identify where Access to Work can assist.</p><p> </p><p>We have also introduced the Access to Work Mental Health Support Service. This can offer support to individuals with a mental health condition who are absent from work or finding work difficult. The service supports those experiencing depression, anxiety, stress or other mental health issues that are affecting their work.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, Fit for Work will be launched in late 2014 with a phased roll-out coming to a close by the end of May 2015. Fit for Work will deliver both a supportive occupational health assessment and general health and work advice to employees, employers and GPs, to help individuals stay in or return to work.</p><p> </p><p>Finally, Work Choice provides disabled people with complex barriers to employment with a seamless service covering all stages of the journey into work. Short to longer-term in-work support is provided and progression into open unsupported employment is encouraged, where it is appropriate for the individual.</p><p> </p><p>Work Choice can provide an indefinite period of support once the customer is in work in recognition of the fact that some Work Choice participants may need ongoing support to overcome barriers in work that cannot be met through normal workplace adjustments.</p>

Due to the low numbers of the Scheme applications at this stage, it is not possible to disclose the actual highest and lowest payments, as they could lead to individuals being identified.</p><p> </p><p>DWP will carry out an annual review of the scheme as set out within the Diffuse Mesothelioma Payment Scheme Regulations 2014. The first report under this regulation will be published on or before 30 November 2015. The report will set out the objectives intended to be achieved by the scheme, include the level of take up, and assess the extent to which those objectives have been achieved over the reporting period.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p /> <p>Every death in custody is a tragedy, and the Government is committed to reducing the number of self-inflicted deaths in prisons. All prisons are required to have procedures in place to identify, manage and support people who are at risk of harm to themselves. These procedures include the Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork (ACCT) process, which is a prisoner-centred, flexible care planning system for prisoners identified as at risk of suicide or self-harm. Prisons are also required to ensure that they have procedures in place to learn from deaths in custody to prevent future occurrences.</p><p> </p><p>We are working hard to understand the reasons for the recent rise in the number of self-inflicted deaths, but there is no simple explanation. Additional resources and support are being provided for safer custody work in prisons, and in particular to improve the consistency of the ACCT system. The National Offender Management Service has also put in place additional staff at regional level to support staff in prisons and to share good practice, and created a dedicated learning and knowledge management team at headquarters which is providing further support for safer custody work.</p><p> </p><p>Data on deaths in custody is published quarterly in the Safety in Custody Statistics Bulletin, available at <a href="http://www.gov.uk/government/publications/safety-in-custody-statistics" target="_blank">www.gov.uk/government/publications/safety-in-custody-statistics</a>.</p>
