answer text <p>The government is determined to ensure that everyone who is entitled to the National Minimum and Living Wage (NMW) receives it. Anyone who feels they have not been paid the NMW should contact Acas helpline on 0300 123 1100 or via the online complaints form at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/pay-and-work-rights-complaints" target="_blank">gov.uk</a>. HMRC reviews all complaints that are referred to them.</p><p> </p><p>Most NMW cases are subject to civil (non-criminal) sanctions, the consequences of which include fines of up to 200% of the determined underpayment, and public naming.</p><p> </p><p>Prosecution is reserved for the most serious non-compliance, and since 2007 HMRC investigations have led to the successful prosecution of 14 UK employers for NMW related offences. There have been no prosecutions relating to interns.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Paediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disease Associated with Streptococcal Infections is a term used to describe a subset of children and adolescents who have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and/or tic disorders, and in whom symptoms worsen following streptococcal (strep) infections. Treatment for these symptoms, including psychological therapies, is available from the National Health Service.</p><p> </p><p>The Department does not require its staff to attend specific external events, but practitioners from the NHS will be taking part at the PANDAS UK conference on 22 September.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Office of National Statistics (ONS) publishes data on premature births in its Birth Characteristics publication. The latest data available is for 2016 which shows that there were 54,143 pre-term births (live births before 37 weeks gestation) in England and Wales. The ONS do not publish this information for England only.</p><p> </p><p>Data on the number of parents that receive neonatal resuscitation training is not collected centrally. However, all neonatal units provide resuscitation training for the parents of babies considered at higher risk of potentially needing resuscitation in the community, which would include babies born prematurely. The training is provided by members of staff from within the neonatal unit and is organised and delivered at a local level.</p> more like this

answer text <p>On 15 June, as part of the changes we are making to alter the allocation of places under the Tier 2 (General) cap, the Government commissioned the independent Migration Advisory Committee to undertake a full review of the composition of the Shortage Occupation List. This review will enable the MAC to look at which posts are in national shortage and should be given priority within the Tier 2 cap in future.</p><p>It is right that the Government await the conclusions from that report – due in Spring 2019 – before amending the SOL.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Local planning authorities are legally required to publicise applications for planning permission, prior to deciding the application.</p><p>There is nothing to prevent a local planning authority notifying a neighbour resident in an adjoining authority area, where the application site abuts the boundary, and it would be considered good practice to do so.</p><p>In some cases, such as for major development, the local planning authority has a statutory duty to either display a site notice or serve a notice on any adjoining owner/occupier informing them of the application, irrespective of the location of any local authority boundary.</p><p>Local planning authorities must consider all representations received within the prescribed consultation period.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The superfast broadband rollout is planned for Harewood under an extension of our current Contract 2 deployment programme with our partner, Openreach. This has been delayed due to a number of technical issues but we are expecting these to be resolved very soon.</p><p> </p><p>From March 2019, Ofcom will require providers to tell customers ‘minimum guaranteed speed’ and ‘more realistic speed’ estimates for peak times. If a customer's broadband speed falls below the minimum guaranteed speed, the provider will have a month to improve speed, after which customers will have the right to exit their contract without paying a penalty.</p><p> </p><p>Guidance from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) also states that, from 23 May 2018, numerical speed claims should be based on the download speed available to at least 50% of customers at peak time, and described as ‘average’.</p> more like this

The estimate produced in 2010 was based on evidence from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), combined with a number of other assumptions and should be treated as indicative only.</p><p> </p><p>If an intern is classified as a “worker”, they are entitled to at least the National Minimum Wage from day one of their employment.</p> more like this
