Domestic tourism spend in 2012 was a record-breaking £67,956m. We will not have a final figure for 2014 until next year. Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) groupings have been used as a proxy for advantaged/disadvantaged backgrounds. To enable sufficient sample size to allow for robust comparisons to be made these have been combined into the lower 5 groups and the upper 5 groups.
