answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/07/2014 answer text <p><em>Bacillus cereus</em> is a common bacteria found widely in the environment in dust, soil and vegetation. <em>Bacillus cereus</em> produces very hardy spores, which make it persistent in the environment.</p><p> </p><p>The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) undertake inspections of manufacturing facilities with reference to the standards of Good Manufacturing Practice to verify that companies are producing medicines that are of the correct quality and safety. The manufacture of sterile products, such as Total Parenteral Nutrition, is subject to special requirements in order to minimise risks of bacterial contamination.</p><p> </p><p>In the case of medicines, the MHRA and Public Health England (PHE) are currently investigating what has caused the recent incident where Total Parenteral Nutrition became contaminated with <em>Bacillus cereus</em>. Based on the information we currently have, we believe this is an isolated incident and the appropriate immediate action has been taken to avoid a recurrence. No impacted product was supplied to Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>The Northern Ireland administration has been informed of the current incident involving <em>Bacillus cereus</em>. The investigations into the cause of this incident are still ongoing. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/07/2014 answer text <p>As the minister with responsibility for HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) this question has been passed to me to answer.</p><p> </p><p>Following the Spending Review 2013 HMRC is now working on its longer term plans; further announcements will be made in due course on the implications for individuals, their work and the offices that they work in. In addition HMRC will be saying more about the overall size and shape of the department in the autumn.</p><p> </p><p>In terms of addressing the concerns of employees HMRC has been actively talking to its people about the future direction of the organisation. This conversation is being led through a series of <em>Building our Future</em> events, which all staff are invited to attend. As part of that dialogue with staff HMRC has made it clear that the department needs to modernise and has already advised that it will become a smaller, more highly professional organisation working out of fewer locations. Those people who remain with the organisation will have greater opportunities to retrain into a range of interesting and rewarding roles.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>HMRC has not offered any voluntary redundancies in Northern Ireland in the current financial year. However, this cannot be ruled out in the future if redeployment options cannot be found for staff in need of new roles. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/07/2014 answer text <p>A person who has been deported faces a mandatory refusal of entry under Paragraph 320(2) of the Immigration Rules until or unless the deportation order is revoked by the Secretary of State. This is generally not considered until a minimum of ten years have elapsed. <br><br>A person may be extradited from the UK to stand trial or to serve a sentence. This information is taken into account in decisions whether to grant or refuse re-entry to the UK. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/07/2014 answer text <p>The creation of the National Crime Agency (NCA) has changed and improved the way we tackle serious and organised crime in this country. The NCA is taking a <br>stronger, more effective leadership role across our law enforcement community, and tackling threats and individuals which some in the past thought were too difficult or untouchable. This closer co-ordination is already delivering results, and you may be aware of a recent NCA investigation, in partnership with Surrey Police and Bahraini authorities that resulted in four men being sentenced to a total of 20 years imprisonment for a range of sexual offences against children. This is just one example of how the NCA is working with partners in the UK, and internationally, to take the fight to organised criminals. <br><br>The Northern Ireland Justice Minister is leading in the efforts to extend the powers of the National Crime Agency in Northern Ireland within an appropriate framework. As he said in answer to an Assembly question on 9 July, David Ford hopes to bring a revised proposed model for the operation of the NCA in Northern Ireland to all relevant parties as soon as practicable to seek to move matters forward. Member will be aware that many areas of transport policy, such as ports, are devolved to the Executive.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Chancellor announced in this year's Budget that funding to maintain existing air connectivity to London – first announced in the 2013 Spending Round last June – will increase from £10million to £20million per year. It would also be expanded to include provision for start-up aid for new air routes from UK regional airports, including those in Northern Ireland, which handle fewer than five million passengers per year. The Department will publish guidance that will clarify how the Government will expect to interpret the European Union State aid guidelines on start-up aid for new air routes, and explain how the funding process will operate across the UK.</p><p> </p><p>Previously, reflecting the wishes of the Northern Ireland Executive, the Government devolved to Northern Ireland the power to set Air Passenger Duty rates for long haul flights departing Northern Ireland. The zero rate for direct long haul flights departing from Northern Ireland took effect from 1 January 2013. This breaks down as follows:-</p><p>Temporary Agents: 46<br>Contract Agents: 110<br>Permanent staff (AD): 672<br>Permanent staff (AST): 339<br>Total: 1167</p><p>In the General Secretariat of the Council there were:-</p><p>Contract Agents: 1<br>Permanent staff (AD): 53<br>Permanent staff (AST): 33<br>Total: 87</p><p>The UK currently also has 112 out of a total of 1,028 (10.89%) of Seconded National Experts (Civil Servants on secondment from Member States) working in the EU Institutions.</p><p>The 2014 annual EU budget includes €1755.6 million for the administrative expenditure of the European Parliament (EP) of which 35% is for staff expenses, mainly salaries for the 6,000 officials working in the General Secretariat and in the Political Groups.
