answer text <p>The Government publishes Official Statistics (on a quarterly and annual basis) of licences granted and refused for military exports on GOV.UK and can be found at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/strategic-export-controls-licensing-data" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/strategic-export-controls-licensing-data</a></p><p>In the last ten years one licence has been refused under criterion 8 of the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria.</p><p>The licence application in question was submitted by an UK exporter and was refused in 2010. The intended destination of the goods was Sierra Leone.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Export Control Joint Unit is not involved in any aspect of export promotion and DSO is not involved or consulted in export licensing decisions.</p><p>Regarding working in close partnership, the annual report said &quot;ECJU also continued to work in close partnership with DIT's Defence &amp; Security Organisation (DSO) at regional events for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These helped ECJU to explain export control requirements directly to defence and security businesses, reaching around 200 people, around 20% of whom were new to exporting&quot;.</p> more like this
