There are over 6,000 dental practices holding an NHS contract in England. In advance of this pause, the National Shielding Service website and automated phoneline were closed to new registrations on 17 July. On closure of new registrations, 198,167 individuals had registered a need for help to obtain essential supplies. To the same timeframe, 71,282 individuals were registered a need for basic care. Everyone who had requested priority access to online supermarket slots by 17 July has also retained this access.
