answer text <p>HM Treasury leads on all public sector pension scheme policy making and sets clear parameters within which pension scheme rules must be set, including the pension age for public servants.</p><p>The Cabinet Office is responsible for making the Civil Service pension scheme regulations. This pension scheme covers the overwhelming majority of civil servants in active service, including prison officers, and must be delivered within the wider HM Treasury policies.</p><p>Finally, the Ministry of Justice leads on local policy relating to prison officer terms and conditions. It may consider utilising employment, retirement and pension flexibilities for particular groups, if affordable and as they deem appropriate.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The investigation of possible breaches of the prohibition of menthol as a characterising flavour in cigarettes is ongoing and therefore no assessment has yet been made.</p><p>The Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), which was established in October 2021, has assumed responsibility for the former Public Health England’s investigation. OHID has commissioned independent analysis of 20 cigarette brands of interest, in its role as the United Kingdom’s Competent Authority for tobacco. The results from this testing have recently been shared with OHID and discussions on next steps are ongoing. We continue to seek full compliance with current legislation around menthol as a characterising flavour in cigarettes and OHID plans to publish its findings in due course.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The total population and capacity of the prison estate is published weekly at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/prison-population-statistics" target="_blank">Prison population statistics - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)</a>. The population and capacity of each individual prison is published monthly at the same link.</p><p>On 27 March 2020, the total population was 83,189 and the useable operational capacity of the estate was 85,583. On 2 December 2022, the total population was 82,896 and the useable operational capacity was 84,148.</p><p>A table showing the capacity, population and places out of use at each adult male prison on 2 December 2022 has been provided below. Prison capacity can be taken out of use temporarily for a number of reasons.</p><p>All new prison capacity is brought into use in a phased and controlled way, so only cells that are available for use are included below. With regard to places out of use, these have only been listed where the losses affect the deliverable operational capacity of the site, and so is limited to sites where losses are not mitigated by answer text <p>The total population and capacity of the prison estate is published weekly at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/prison-population-statistics" target="_blank">Prison population statistics - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)</a>. The population and capacity of each individual prison is published monthly at the same link.</p><p>On 27 March 2020, the total population was 83,189 and the useable operational capacity of the estate was 85,583. On 2 December 2022, the total population was 82,896 and the useable operational capacity was 84,148.</p><p>A table showing the capacity, population and places out of use at each adult male prison on 2 December 2022 has been provided below. Prison capacity can be taken out of use temporarily for a number of reasons.</p><p>All new prison capacity is brought into use in a phased and controlled way, so only cells that are available for use are included below. With regard to places out of use, these have only been listed where the losses affect the deliverable operational capacity of the site, and so is limited to sites where losses are not mitigated by
