answer text <p>In our 2017 Smart Systems and Flexibility Plan and 2018 Progress Update, the Government committed to amend the Electricity Act 1989 to define electricity storage as a distinct subset of generation. We will do this when parliamentary time allows. This is an important measure to improve regulatory clarity for electricity storage, and one that we will honour.</p> more like this

answer text <p>HM Treasury sets the UK-wide tax rules for pensions, and does not set the rules for individual schemes. The Government keeps all aspects of the tax system under review through the annual Budget process.</p><p> </p><p>Health is a devolved matter for the Scottish Government. The Scottish Public Pensions Agency are responsible for the administration of the pensions for employees of the National Health Service schemes in Scotland. HM Treasury therefore does not hold relevant data about NHS employees in the Kilmarnock and Loudoun constituency.</p> more like this

answer text <p>In December 2018, the Government set out its proposals in “the UK’s future Skills-based Immigration System” White Paper. The White Paper proposals include a new route for skilled workers which will be open to anyone at RQF level 3 and above, irrespective of where they are applying from. This route will not be capped allowing all of those who meet our requirements to come to the UK.</p><p>The White Paper also includes a transitional route for temporary workers which will be open to anyone from qualifying countries, wishing to fill positions at any skill level, for up to 12 months. We do not intend to impose a cap on the number of people wishing to use the route.</p> more like this

answer text <p>As my Rt Hon Friend, the Home Secretary, set out in his Written Ministerial Statement of 6 March (HCWS1380), this is a UK wide pilot and we have placed a specific duty on the scheme operators to ensure that all regions of the UK are able to benefit.</p><p>The pilot is designed to test the effectiveness of our immigration system at supporting the horticulture sector during peak production periods, whilst maintaining robust immigration control and ensuring there are minimal impacts on local communities and public services. 2,500 places has been identified as the appropriate number for this purpose.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The settlement agreement secured the vital freight capacity that Government has purchased from DFDS and Brittany Ferries, and therefore the unhindered supply of medicines for our NHS, by removing a legal risk of the contracts with these companies being declared ineffective by the Court. The agreement itself does not procure additional freight capacity, nor was it ever intended to. Under the terms of the settlement agreement, to ensure value for money, Eurotunnel has agreed that the entirety of the settlement sum will be used on projects to improve security, traffic flow and infrastructure resilience around the Channel tunnel site.</p><p> </p> more like this
