This information is routinely published in the CSA Quarterly Summary of Statistics available at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/child-support-agency-quarterly-summary-statistics--2" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/child-support-agency-quarterly-summary-statistics--2</a></p><p> </p><p>The change in trend can be attributed to the fact that since 25 November 2013 all new applications are now being processed by the Child Maintenance Service. We are not yet in a position to release full statistics for these cases and are therefore unable to provide the information requested. When system data becomes available and fully assured they will be released as part of a managed process, which will be pre-announced and in line with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.</p><p> </p><p>The figures above relate to those receiving support within the statutory child maintenance schemes. Children also benefit from financial support as part of arrangements made outside the statutory schemes, including private arrangements made between the separated parents, which are known as &quot;family-based arrangements”. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/10/2014 answer text <p /> <p>In the 1993 and 2003 schemes, self-employed earnings are usually taken from the self-assessment return that is submitted to HM Revenue and Customs, or from a tax calculation notice. This is consistent with the policy that, as for employed earners, the basis of the child maintenance liability is taxable earnings. If, at any stage, a parent with care believes that the Child Support Agency should make more enquiries it can be asked to do so, although some evidence about the matter they feel needs investigating is often required.</p><p> </p><p>For self-employed paying parents in the 2012 Scheme, gross income is determined by reference to gross taxable profits for the latest available tax-year.
