A new sponsorship route, which will allow Ukrainians with no family ties to the UK to be sponsored to come here, also launched this month.</p><p> </p><p>Ukrainians in Ireland wishing to come to the UK should apply to do so before seeking to travel to the UK including travelling across the land border into Northern Ireland. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/02/2022 answer text <p>The subject of dual mandates was debated extensively in the House of Lords during Committee Stage of the Northern Ireland (Ministers, Elections and Petitions of Concern) Bill, following the tabling of an amendment by Lord Alderdice, which was supported by a number of noble Lords. At the conclusion of the debate, I undertook to consider the matter further with a view to returning to it at Report Stage. Following this, I carried out broad engagement in parliament, and spoke to representatives from a number of political parties setting out the Government's proposed approach.</p><p> </p><p>After the Government tabled the amendment, however, the majority of Northern Ireland parties made clear that they did not wish to see any change to the current arrangements. That is why we committed in the 2021 Spending Review to provide, on average, £15 billion per year to the Northern Ireland Executive, marking the largest funding settlement for Northern Ireland since devolution in 1998/9.</p><p> </p><p>In addition to this, the UK Government has also provided the Northern Ireland Executive with over £5 billion during the pandemic to support the Executive’s response.
