answer text <p>We apologise for the delay in replying to the coroner. The Department is preparing its response to this Regulation 28 report as a matter of urgency. It is within the Chief Coroner’s discretion to publish the report, together with the Department’s response.</p><p>Prevention of Future Deaths reports are an important part of our broader system for learning from deaths, as they help to identify themes to inform improved guidance, regular learning, and the development of our policies more generally.</p><p>The Department ensures that relevant regulators and other bodies are aware of the matters of concern brought to its attention, so that the system can respond as appropriate. We are working closely with NHS England and other partners in the health system to support healthcare professionals.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department continues to treat correspondence from parliamentarians as a priority and adhere to the Cabinet Office standard for responses in 20 working days. Volumes continue to be higher than they were pre-pandemic, and we are working though detailed recovery plans to improve our response rates.</p><p>With regards to timeliness of responses to enquiries received by members, the Cabinet Office published data on this for 2022 for all government departments on GOV.UK in March 2023 and will be publishing data for Q1 and Q2 2023 shortly. answer text <p>The Government attaches great importance to the effective and timely handling of correspondence from hon. Members, either directly or on behalf of their constituents. The Department does not have an MP hotline.</p><p>The Department does not hold information on the average response time to enquiries from hon. Members, as correspondence performance is monitored by the percentage of correspondence responded to within the target response time set by the Department.</p><p>Data on the timeliness of responses to correspondence from Parliamentarians in 2019 and 2020 is published on GOV.UK:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/data-on-responses-to-correspondence-from-mps-and-peers" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/data-on-responses-to-correspondence-from-mps-and-peers</a></p><p>Data for 2021 will be published by the Cabinet Office in due course.</p> more like this
