The sector is a UK success story and a significant soft power asset.</p><p>Specialist publishing remains an integral part of the media industry, worth £3.74 billion to the UK economy, employing around 55,000 people. The Government recognises the need for the long-term financial sustainability of football clubs, including those in the lower leagues. The Government will publish a White Paper on Football Governance reforms imminently, to set out our detailed plans to improve the financial stability and governance of football clubs across all leagues.</p><p>In addition, throughout the pandemic the Government offered substantial financial support to many football clubs at the National League level through the Sports Survival Package, to ensure their survival throughout the difficult period. In April 2022, the Government set out a number of reforms which will see the regulation and aspects of tax treatment of cryptoassets evolve.</p><p>The Government is committed to supporting the growth of the UK’s games sector. As part of a wider package to support the growth of the creative industries, the Government has committed to an £8 million expansion of the UK Games Fund. The UK Games Fund will continue to provide valuable support to early-stage games development and talented graduates throughout the UK. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/01/2023 answer text <p>The Government values the strong contribution of grassroots music venues as centres of research and development for the UK’s world leading music industry.</p><p>As a devolved policy, the Devolved Administrations receive funding for culture through the Barnett formula. It is for the Scottish Government to decide how to allocate these resources across all its devolved responsibilities.</p><p>Support in England is provided for grassroots music venues through Arts Council England (ACE). ACE’s Supporting Grassroots Live Music fund provides a ring-fenced £1.5m to eligible venues (accepting applications for between £1000 and £40,000) and has been extended until 31 March 2023.</p><p>DCMS supported culture (including grassroots music) during Covid-19 through the unprecedented Culture Recovery Fund (CRF). As part of this package, funding was included for the Devolved Administrations through the Barnett formula. Decisions relating to the care and management of the museum's collections are a matter for the Trustees of the British Museum.</p><p>The British Museum, along with some other national museums, is prevented by law from deaccessioning objects in its collection. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/01/2023 answer text <p>The Government recognises the difficulties that some bereaved parents have experienced when accessing their loved ones' data. The question of parental rights to access of children’s digital profiles and posts is complex, so we are considering this matter with the Ministry of Justice and social media organisations, before deciding on any next steps.</p><p>Currently, coroners have extensive powers under the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 that allow them to require information for their inquests (which could include relevant digital data following the death of a child). Any party whom the coroner considers to have a sufficient interest in a coronial investigation, which may include bereaved parents, therefore has the right to receive documents and other evidence from the coroner which may be used in the inquest.</p><p>Outside of coronial investigations, some social media companies might act voluntarily to share certain information about the material a child was viewing with bereaved families. However, others may operate policies of non-disclosure to third parties (including parents), unless a user takes active steps to nominate a person who may access his or her account after they die or there is a legal obligation to disclose the data. Some social media users might be concerned about the thought of disclosing private information or other digital assets to third parties after their death, and so an automatic right of access is unlikely to be appropriate in every case. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/01/2023 answer text <p>Volunteering is critical to a vibrant and resilient civil society; it benefits volunteers and the organisations involving them and has transformational impacts on beneficiaries and their communities. This Government is committed to enabling people to take part in all forms of social action, including volunteering. We know the profound benefit that volunteering has on the individual, on communities and on society.</p><p>We also recognise the impact of volunteering in emergencies. As such, DCMS has committed to funding the Voluntary and Community Sector Emergencies Partnership (VCSEP) through to 2025. The partnership was established following 2017 crises including the Grenfell fire and Manchester terrorist attacks and aims to help people and organisations prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. The VCSEP is a collection of voluntary and community sector organisations, and is co-chaired by the British Red Cross and the National Association of Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA). The partnership creates a network of networks, reaching thousands of volunteer-involving groups and organisations.</p><p>Given the effectiveness of this partnership and their existing reach into communities, DCMS is keen to support their resilience and emergency response work.</p><p>DCMS has considered other mechanisms, including a national volunteering reserve as was suggested in 2020 by Danny Kruger MP in his report '<a href="https://www.dannykruger.org.uk/sites/www.dannykruger.org.uk/files/2020-09/Kruger%202.0%20Levelling%20Up%20Our%20Communities.pdf" target="_blank">Levelling Up Our Communities: Proposals for a New Social Covenant</a>'. <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/government-response-to-danny-kruger-mps-report-levelling-up-our-communities-proposals-for-a-new-social-covenant/government-response-to-danny-kruger-mps-report-levelling-up-our-communities-proposals-for-a-new-social-covenant" target="_blank">The Government response to this report</a> outlined that a volunteering reserve would not be a solution to current barriers to volunteering such as work commitments, caring commitments, and people doing other things in their spare time. Evidence such as NCVO’s Time Well Spent research indicates volunteering is an activity inspired by a particular cause or purpose. For these reasons, we are focussing our efforts on supporting volunteering to grow and adapt, including through our active support of the Vision for Volunteering.We will continue to assess the value of approaches such as a national volunteering corps. The ultimate responsibility for the safety of spectators lies at all times with the ground management and the SGSA remains in contact with the club, Sheffield City Council and the Safety Advisory Group as the facts are established and any implications for safety management arrangements at Hillsborough are considered.
