answer text <p>My department is aware of the financial impact that covid - 19 has on charities finances and is continuously monitoring the overall health of the sector.</p><p>The £750 million package of support announced by the Chancellor on 8 April is available for all charities, irrespective of size, providing frontline services to vulnerable people affected by the pandemic and at risk of financial hardship, due to the increase in demand for services.</p><p>We will continue to work closely to assess how we can support charities in doing their important work.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Ministers and officials are in regular contact with the voluntary sector and are establishing mechanisms to collate robust and ongoing insights into the overall health of the sector.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>We are aware that many charities continue to face a significant loss of income due to Covid-19, through reductions in fundraising, trading and investment income.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Support measures such as the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme can assist with easing the burden placed on organisations that are unable to operate due to social distancing restrictions. The £750 million package of support for charities announced by the Chancellor on 8 April provides targeted support to organisations providing frontline services to vulnerable people affected by the pandemic.</p><p><strong><br></strong>We will continue to work closely to identify further support charities require through this time of financial instability.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Both sport and healthcare are devolved, and each of the Devolved Authorities will have its own approach to these facilities. Changes in use of such facilities will be made on a location by location basis as a result of discussions between the local parties, depending on local need at the time.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>In England, six NHS Nightingale hospitals have been opened of the seven being built across the country, as part of actions taken to ensure the NHS has sufficient hospital capacity to care for COVID-19 patients. This includes the Nightingale hospitals in London (London ExCel) and Birmingham (Birmingham National Exhibition Centre).</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Surge capacity is holding up well in NHS hospitals across the country. As such, both the London ExCel and Birmingham National Exhibition Centre have now been placed on standby and will not be accepting patients. It is possible the NHS Nightingale hospitals will be needed in the months ahead, and the Government will maintain that extra capacity until there is more certainty.</p>

answer text <p>The final conclusions of the Government’s Telecoms Supply Chain Review in relation to high risk vendors were announced on 28 January. High risk vendors should be excluded from those parts of the 5G and full fibre networks that are critical to security (“the core”), and their presence in the rest of the UK’s networks should be limited to 35 per cent, with further restrictions in sensitive geographic locations.</p><p> </p><p>The UK Government does not plan to reconsider this decision. We will be introducing the Telecoms Security Bill to implement the new security framework for our telecoms networks, including the restrictions to be applied to the presence of high risk vendors, at the earliest possible opportunity.</p> more like this

answer text <p>We recognise that COVID-19 has significantly impacted the tourism sector, including organisations providing outdoor educational trips. My Department has engaged with stakeholders throughout the crisis to monitor the impact on tourism services across the UK. We will continue to consult the sector to assess how we can most effectively support businesses, organisations and customers during the recovery period.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>We have announced unprecedented support for business and workers, including those in the tourism sector, to protect them against the current economic emergency. This includes employee support through the recently extended Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, plus various loan schemes which offer government backed and guaranteed loans.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Department for Education is currently advising that professional outdoor education and adventure holiday providers that would usually offer activities for schools and/or summer holiday activities to children should remain closed for the time being. This will be kept under review.</p><p> </p>
