In March 2020, the government announced a deal with the mobile network operators, including Vodafone, to increase 4G coverage to 95% of the UK landmass. The Government’s ambition is for the majority of the population to have access to a 5G signal by 2027 and we want to ensure that UK businesses reap the full benefits of 5G.</p><p>There is no explicit regulatory requirement for mobile network operators to maintain a 2G or 3G network and the government has limited powers to compel operators to maintain, switch off or streamline specific networks. There have been countless examples during the pandemic of football clubs across the country demonstrating their importance to their local area, volunteering both time and money during these difficult times.</p><p>The Government has provided unprecedented support to businesses throughout the pandemic, including a comprehensive and sizable package of direct fiscal support for business through tax reliefs, cash grants and employee wage support. Many football clubs have benefited from these measures.</p><p>Where it can, we will expect the top tiers of professional sport to look at ways in which it can support itself, with government focusing on those most in need. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/01/2020 answer text <p>Football clubs and grounds are the heart of local communities, they have unique social value and many with a great history. it is vital they are protected and fans should have their voices heard.</p><p>The Fans Fund, funded by the Premier League and administered by the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), includes funds to assist Supporters’ Trusts of clubs in the National League, English Football League and Premier League with the professional fees needed to build a credible bid when an ownership opportunity arises.</p><p>The FSA can provide support and advice to fans considering supporter ownership as part of their important work representing and connecting football fans across the country.</p><p>The Premier League and English Football League now also require clubs meet with supporters at least twice a year to discuss strategic issues, giving fans the opportunity to shape the direction of the club.</p><p>We have committed to a fan led review of football governance, which will include consideration of the Owners’ and Directors’ test.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Selby and Ainsty answering member printed Nigel Adams question first answered 09/01/2020 14:07:42 answering member 4057 label Biography information for Nigel Adams

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/09/2017 answer text <p>Local Authorities continue to be the biggest investors in community sport in England​, investing £1.1bn in 2015/16, delivering both community and health benefits and opportunities for talented athletes.</p><p> </p><p>​Sport England works closely with the Local Government sector, investing £258m in community sports facilities over the last five years, attracting an additional £1.2bn investment from other sources spread across more than 2,800 projects.</p><p> </p><p>Sport England launched a £15m Community Asset Fund in January 2017 to support local sports infrastructure, and will also invest up to £40m to support the development of large scale facilities.</p><p> </p><p>In partnership with UK Sport, Sport England has invested over £8m in elite facilities since 2013 to ensure that world class training environments meet the needs of the World Class Programmes and add value to the local community.
