answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/11/2017 answer text <p>A configuration error from a supplier led to data containing 801 email addresses, usernames, company name, and IP addresses from 800 companies, including assessors of and applicants to the scheme, being exposed. There is no information to suggest it was extracted. No personal data was released. The scheme's certification bodies and all 801 email addresses were notified by email and were provided directly with advice and guidance.</p><p> </p><p>Cyber Essentials remains one of the best ways for organisations to test and show they have protected themselves against the most common cyber threats, including phishing and malware attacks. We are carefully considering the issues raised by the Select Committee and continue to take advice from the Gambling Commission as we consider policy options.</p><p> </p><p>We expect that the Gambling Commission will publish their advice in due course, when Government has made an announcement on its conclusions.</p><p> </p><p>The Gambling Commission are currently consulting on on increasing provisions around transparency for society lotteries. This includes the UK Youth Parliament and the Make Your Mark ballot and the Youth Select Committee.</p><p> </p><p>The National Citizen Service (NCS) Trust estimate that participants in the programme have given around 10 million volunteering hours.
