answer text <p>Since publication of Ofcom’s Prominence recommendations, the government and Ofcom have worked closely together and engaged with industry to fully understand the impact of Ofcom’s proposals. This work is ongoing and the government remains committed to act on Ofcom’s prominence recommendations, including through legislation.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>It is important to ensure that prominence, and the balance of benefits and obligations, support a sustainable future for public service broadcasting (PSB). These issues are also being considered as part of the government’s strategic review of PSB, where we will set out next steps later this year.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>We recognise the need to ensure that high quality public service content is made easily accessible to UK audiences. That is why the government asked Ofcom to undertake a review of this area through the Digital Economy Act 2017.</p><p>Ofcom published their Prominence recommendations to government in July 2019 and since then we have engaged with Ofcom and industry to fully understand the impact of Ofcom’s proposals. This work is ongoing and the government remains committed to act on Ofcom’s recommendations and to taking forward legislation as the legislative timetable allows.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>In July 2019, Ofcom published its report and recommendations on how the prominence regime may need to change to ensure that Public Service Broadcasting programming remains easy to find regardless of how viewers are watching and accessing content. That is why under the Digital Economy Act 2017 the Government required Ofcom to publish a report which looks at the ease of finding PSB content across all platforms.</p><p> </p><p>Ofcom has consulted on proposed changes to the linear EPG Code and how the prominence regime may need to change to ensure public service content remains accessible regardless of how consumers are accessing it. That consultation closed in October 2018 and we look forward to their findings in due course.</p> more like this
