answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/10/2020 answer text <p>We are aware that the events and exhibition industry, as well as other sectors, have been severely impacted by Government measures to control the spread of Covid-19.</p><p>Businesses can continue to access the Government’s UK wide support package. This includes the Bounce Back Loans scheme, the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme and the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.</p><p>As the Chancellor announced on 24 September, we are also offering affected businesses generous terms for the repayment of deferred taxes and government-backed loans, as well as extending the application window of the government-backed loan schemes.</p><p>We continue to engage with stakeholders, including through the Visitor Economy Working Group and the Events Industry Senior Leaders Advisory Panel, to monitor the situation facing companies across the UK.</p><p><strong> </strong></p> answering member constituency Mid Worcestershire answering member printed Nigel Huddleston question first answered 08/10/2020 13:18:46 answering member 4407 label Biography information for Nigel Huddleston

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/09/2020 answer text <p>DCMS appreciates the important role that the events sector plays in the UK’s economy, and that the Covid-19 pandemic presents a significant challenge to many businesses operating in these sectors.</p><p>The Secretary of State announced an unprecedented £1.57 billion support package for key cultural organisations to help them through the coronavirus pandemic. This funding will provide targeted support to organisations across a range of cultural and creative sectors. This package aims to support sectors across the Arts, Culture, and Heritage to reopen or ensure they do not permanently close their doors.</p><p>From 15th August and as part of the Government’s 5 stage roadmap to get performing arts and live entertainment sectors back up and running as soon as possible, venues and organisations have been able to put on live indoor performances in front of a socially-distanced audience. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/07/2020 answer text <p>The purpose of the DCMS Coronavirus Business Survey is to assess the impact of Covid 19 on DCMS sectors and the extent to which they have accessed government support packages. DCMS has published selected headline findings, and we will publish the detailed results in due course.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The survey was launched on 23rd April 2020 and closed on 22nd May 2020. The survey was run simultaneously through DCMS stakeholder engagement channels and via a YouGov panel.
