answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/05/2024 answer text <p>The Multi-Sport Grassroots Facilities Programme is investing over £325 million between 2021 and 2025 to level up facilities across the whole of the UK. In England, this is delivered through the Football Foundation which is an independent charity and is best placed to discuss any previous or prospective applications. DCMS does not receive or assess any applications, and projects are awarded through the Foundation's independent grant panel.</p><p>The Football Foundation plans their investment pipeline based on Local Football Facility Plans, which have been developed in partnership with local authorities and sector leaders. These will shortly be revised to take into account the current landscape and multi-sport usage. Potential applicants can still discuss an application with the Foundation at any time using the email address stated below. Their website also sets out the different grants available. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/05/2024 answer text <p>I welcome the practical support being provided by sports and player associations to former players who develop neurodegenerative conditions such as chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Player associations such as the Professional Footballers’ Association play a valuable role in supporting players by providing short and long-term support to those affected by sporting injuries.</p><p>I have discussed the issue of dementia with the Professional Footballers' Association, specifically around the Football Brain Health Fund for players impacted by dementia, which was launched in September 2023. I recognise the important role snooker clubs play in many communities across the country.</p><p>The Government’s Arm’s Length Body for grassroots sport, Sport England, receives £323 million in Exchequer and Lottery funding each year. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/05/2024 answer text <p>The Government has audited the cost-effectiveness of all equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) activities, through the review of EDI spending announced last June.</p><p>On 14th May the Minister without Portfolio made a written statement on the latest findings from the review.</p><p>In response to these findings, the Cabinet Office is publishing the Civil Service EDI Expenditure Guidance. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/05/2024 answer text <p>DCMS has been a member of the Disability Confident scheme since 2017 and had its accreditation as a <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/disability-confident-guidance-for-levels-1-2-and-3/level-3-disability-confident-leader" target="_blank">Disability Confident Leader</a> renewed in April 2024. Activity to support our membership of the scheme, and disabled colleagues more generally, is mainstreamed into the work of the People and Workplace team including health &amp; safety, recruitment, HR policy, inclusion and career progression.</p><p>During the time that DCMS has been part of the scheme the proportion of disabled colleagues has increased from 8% in 2021 to 12.2% in 2023 (2024 data not yet published). DCMS won a Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative award for Creating Disability Confident Recruiters in 2023 and analysis of our recruitment data for 2023/24 shows that a higher proportion of disabled candidates were successful at the sift stage compared to the proportion that applied. Analysis of our retention data shows no difference between retention rates for staff with a declared disability and those without.
