answer text <p>The Department has made no payments to Buzfeed and there was no cost to the Department. A member of the communications team wrote the editorial as part of their job. DCMS content on Buzzfeed is clearly marked as coming from the Department and Buzzfeed clearly state it is not paid for advertising.</p> more like this

In Telford he met members of the International Centre to discuss the Government's forthcoming Business Events Strategy. answer text <p>The Scottish Government estimate the total capital cost for the current Scotland projects under phase 1 of the Superfast Broadband Programme will be £412 million. The UK Government is contributing nearly £101 million, the Scottish Government will contribute nearly £63 million, Scottish local authorities will contribute over £102 million and the European Union over £20 million towards the total. The balance of just over £126 million is expected to be contributed by the supplier BT.</p><p> </p><p>The UK Government has allocated a further £21 million for phase 2 delivery within Scotland. This funding is subject to procurement and confirmation of local match funding.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Superfast broadband coverage in Wales has now reached over 1 million premises, over two-thirds of the total in Wales. 345,000 premises have gained coverage as a result of the Superfast Cymru broadband programme which has funding from the UK government, Welsh Government and European funds.</p><p> </p><p>The contract for Superfast Cymru is not based on delivery of cabinet or exchange upgrades, but instead requires target numbers of premises able to access superfast broadband. answer text <p>I meet regularly with Ofcom to discuss a variety of issues.</p><p> </p><p>Ofcom is concerned about unclear telephone charges and is introducing rules which make the cost of calling 118 numbers clearer for telephone users.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Under changes coming into effect this summer, both telecoms and 118 service providers will have to be clear on what they each charge for 118 calls. The costs of calls will be split out into an access charge and a service charge so consumers can compare costs for calling different 118 services – and see where their money is going.</p> more like this

answer text <p>In 2010 nearly half of UK premises could access superfast broadband. Current superfast broadband coverage is almost 80% of UK premises and the Government remains committed to providing 95% coverage by 2017. This will benefit rural businesses across the UK.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>BDUK works with local authorities and the devolved administrations to determine how funding for broadband projects is deployed and where the roll out of superfast broadband is carried out.</p> more like this
