In November 2018 the number of staff employed in my Department (latest workforce figures) was 6,214.</p><p>Most of the increase here (82%) is the result of the transfer of staff and functions into the Cabinet Office from other Government Departments under machinery of government changes.</p><p>As part of this Government’s commitment to transparency, my Department publishes workforce statistics each month. We have accelerated our plans, and at the same time, the Civil Service as a whole is working to ensure that EU Exit Implementation is carried out to high quality without impacting public service delivery across the whole of government. Where consolidation has reduced competition we take steps to encourage more.</p><p>There are now more small suppliers than ever looking to bid for Government business. As of end of November 2018, there were 44,963 registered individual users on Contracts Finder from 30,161 organisations. 20,397 of these (c. 67.6%) are SMEs. The consultation closed on 28 October 2018 and is available at GOV.UK.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is considering the contributions of all interested parties and will publish a response to the feedback received.
