answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/11/2016 answer text <p>The Government Property Unit (GPU) was established in 2010 to work with central government departments to drive savings across the central civil mandated estate. From 2010 to 2015, we have reduced our estate by 2 million square metres, and 2,200 individual properties have been vacated.This has saved £845 million in running costs and generated over £2.7 billion in capital receipts since 2010.</p><p>We are taking our ambitions further, with a commitment to release at least £5bn of government owned land and property by 2020 which will make a significant contribution to reducing the deficit, stimulating growth, and releasing land for housing.</p><p>Funding was agreed at Spending Review for GPU’s programmes, including our Government Hubs Programme, which is driving a radical reshaping of the Civil Service office estate and for our One Public Estate Programme which works with local authorities to deliver better services, achieve savings and deliver local growth including releasing land for new homes and jobs.</p><p>The average running costs for GPU since 2010 are £3.8 million per annum.</p> answering member constituency Ipswich answering member printed Ben Gummer question first answered 30/11/2016 11:15:07 answering member 3988 label Biography information for Ben Gummer

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/06/2016 answer text <p>The Iraq Inquiry has announced arrangements for next of kin of those who lost their lives in Iraq to see embargoed copies of the report on the day of publication. Representatives of the Armed Forces welfare and family liaison services will be on hand at the publication of the report and will be able to discuss with family members what further support might be helpful to them. Government is currently considering how best to ensure that those directly involved in Iraq operations can access the full report from the Inquiry, and we will announce arrangements in due course. Mandatory grounds for exclusion include convictions for bribery, money laundering and fraud. Discretionary grounds include bankruptcy and grave professional misconduct. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/06/2016 answer text <p>The Forfeiture Committee which makes recommendations on the removal of honours can consider any case where there is evidence to suggest that the retention of an honour would bring the honours system into disrepute, for example, if an individual has been found guilty by the Courts of a criminal offence and sentenced to a term of imprisonment; or has been censured/struck off by the relevant Regulatory Authority or Professional Body for actions or failures to act which are directly relevant to the granting of the Honour.</p><p>Honours nominations are considered by one of the nine independent honours selection committees. The latest evaluation showed that 27% of NCS participants were from non-white backgrounds compared with 19% of the comparable general population. Data is not currently held on the proportion of young people from independent schools participating in NCS. However, the Trust will begin to collect this detail this coming summer. Independent schools such as Dulwich College, Leicester Grammar, James Allen's Girls School and Hymers College, along with others, are referring pupils to NCS.
