answer text
Electricity and gas interconnection in the UK is regulated through a combination of domestic legislation, EU regulations and network codes, regulatory licences, and industry codes. These rules provide a robust framework for operation as demonstrated by current flows across the interconnectors, which respond efficiently to market signals.

The future of this framework will be subject to negotiations with the EU, and the Government has made clear that we seek to develop a deep and special partnership with the EU on energy. Interconnection benefits countries on both sides of the link, through the value of the energy traded, the increased diversity of energy supply, and the flexibility that interconnectors provide for the electricity system.
more like this

The most comprehensive and up to date analysis of payment practices in the construction sector is the recently published BEIS research paper no.17 – Retentions in the Construction Sector. This research indicates that delays in paying retentions are commonplace and the extent of delay can be significantly longer for small and medium-sized construction enterprises. answer text
Under the UK Companies Act, legislation on the Register of People with Significant Control can only be applied to companies as defined in that Act. On matters of company law, the Overseas Territories are legislatively independent. These jurisdictions are largely self-governing: they have their own governments, legislatures and elected representatives, and do not have representation in the UK Parliament.

Under arrangements concluded in 2016, Overseas Territories with a financial centre have committed to hold beneficial ownership in central registers or similarly effective systems, and to give UK law enforcement and tax authorities near real-time access to beneficial ownership information on corporate and legal entities incorporated in their jurisdictions. These measures represent a significant step forward in our ability to investigate serious and organised crime, including bribery, corruption, money laundering and tax evasion.

more like this
