answer text <p>The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) continues to inspect industries associated with exposure to respirable crystalline silica (RCS) and to respond to concerns about risk management reported to HSE.</p><p> </p><p>Adequate control measures for protecting workers from the risks of exposure to RCS are legally required under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH), including water suppression, equipment enclosure, extraction and personal protective equipment, such as respirator masks. COSHH also requires workers to be trained to effectively implement such controls.</p><p> </p><p>HSE works proactively with key stakeholders and trade associations in the construction and manufacturing industries and is engaging with occupational clinicians, to understand any insights for enhancing future interventions aimed at RCS controls.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Employers on film and television productions have extensive duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated regulations for the health and safety of those they employ and for those who are not in their employ but may be affected by their undertaking (freelance contractors, members of the public, etc.). The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) can and does take robust enforcement action in relation to those duties where significant non-compliance with the law is identified.</p><p> </p><p>Section 20 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 gives HSE inspectors a variety of powers to assist in their enquiries and obtain relevant information regardless of any non-disclosure agreements that may be in place. Reporting of work-related accidents resulting in a reportable injury is a legal requirement of the Reporting on Injuries, Diseases, and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) and should not be prevented by the use of non-disclosure agreements.</p> more like this

answer text <p>WorkWell is a pilot programme running in 15 sites in England. The planned evaluation of the pilot will bolster our evidence base on what works to support disabled people and people with health conditions to start, stay and succeed in work. Future decisions, including on any expansion, will be subject to the evidence generated through the pilot<em>. </em></p><p> </p><p>We have undertaken an extensive programme of engagement with Integrated Care Boards prior to the announcement of the pilot areas and will continue to work with pilot areas as they design and deliver the WorkWell pilots.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Polygamous marriages are illegal in the UK</p><p><br> Universal Credit does not recognise polygamous households in the benefit system. Any adults living in the household would each have to claim as a single person on the basis of their own circumstances.</p><p><br> Benefits such as Income Support, Jobseeker's Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance and Housing Benefit do recognise a small number of polygamous marriages which took place in a jurisdiction where polygamy is permitted. This number is very small and declining, since the Immigration Act 1988, it has not been possible for people polygamously married overseas to bring second wives to the UK through the spouse visa route.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Welsh language provision of DWP’s Bereavement Service has not been closed down.</p><p>The Bereavement Service includes:</p><p> </p><ul><li>Making an application for a Bereavement Support Payment</li><li>Reporting a death</li><li>Applying for Funeral Expenses</li></ul><p> </p><p>Bereavement teams within Regional Pension Centres (RPCs) provide this service. A Welsh team in Swansea Pension Centre supports the Welsh language service. This can be accessed by calling 0800 731 0453.</p><p> </p><p>Those reporting a death, who have a Tell Us Once Reference Number, provided by the Registrar, can report a death on-line through the Tell Us Once service, which is also available in Welsh [<a href="https://www.gov.uk/ar-ol-marwolaeth/dywedwch-wrthym-unwaith" target="_blank">Beth i'w wneud ar ôl i rywun farw: Dywedwch Wrthym Unwaith -GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)</a>] or by calling 0800 085 7308 and selecting option 1 to speak to someone in Welsh. From when PIP was introduced in 2013 until January 2024 there were 7,016,000 PIP claims cleared in England and Wales under normal rules.
