I have previously written to the International Maritime Organization asking for an international solution to this issue, confirming the UK’s position on crew changes, and also urged other countries to allow crew changes to take place. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/07/2020 answer text <p>The £1.6 billion Extraordinary Funding and Financing Agreement to enable Transport for London to continue to run services contained a series of conditions, which were agreed by the Mayor of London and Deputy Mayor for Transport, to facilitate safe travel on public transport in London.</p><p> </p><p>While the temporary changes to the validity of the Older Person's Freedom Pass, 60+ Oyster photocard and English National Concessionary Scheme in London have removed free travel for users of these passes from 04:30 to 09:00 Monday to Friday, the provision for over 60s travel in London is still greater than that elsewhere in England, where the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme allows cardholders to travel on buses across the UK for free after 09:30.</p><p> </p><p>An Equality Impact Assessment of the temporary changes to over 60s travel in London was completed by Transport for London and is published here: <a href="https://www.london.gov.uk/sites/default/files/md2642_appendix_2_-_eqia.pdf" target="_blank">https://www.london.gov.uk/sites/default/files/md2642_appendix_2_-_eqia.pdf</a></p><p> </p><p>The temporary changes do not affect passengers with a Disabled Freedom Pass who are still able to travel at all times using their Pass if they have to use public transport for their journey.</p> answering member constituency Redditch answering member printed Rachel Maclean question first answered 01/07/2020 16:34:39 answering member 4668 label Biography information for Rachel Maclean

We are working with transport operators and the police to understand how this is working on the ground, and reminding them of need to be sensitive.</p><p> </p><p>Our Safer Transport Guidance and DFT-produced communications are clear that face coverings don’t need to be worn if disabilities make that difficult, and that people relying on this exemption should not routinely be required to produce any written evidence in support of their reliance. The guidance can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers</p><p> </p><p>It is important that anyone who should not be wearing a face covering is able to travel without fear of harassment. We are working closely with transport operators to make sure that their staff and passengers are aware that not everyone is required to wear a face covering.</p><p> </p><p>We do not want members of the public to challenge anyone not wearing a face covering – they may have a perfectly good reason. It is a matter for operators and police</p><p> </p><p>The Government remains committed to delivering inclusive transport for all passengers. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/07/2020 answer text <p>The Department for Transport is making £225 million available to local authorities this financial year for urgent measures to make it easier for people to walk and cycle for all short journeys, including to school.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has also provided significant amounts of funding to keep buses running to serve those who rely on them. On 3 April, the Government announced £397 million of support for bus services, and on 23 May the Secretary of State announced a further £254 million to help increase bus services across England as we begin to re-open our economy.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Education has produced guidance on implementing protective measures in education and childcare settings. It is for them to decide what is appropriate for roads in their area.
