answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/07/2017 answer text <p>The Department for Transport has postponed publication of its annual 2016 road casualty data until 28 September as a result of a delay in receiving final validated data from Transport for London (TfL), in particular the data which TfL receives and processes for the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). The MPS data makes up around 15% of the road casualty dataset for Great Britain and therefore a significant component of the national total.</p><p> </p><p>The MPS implemented a new reporting system at the end of 2016, the Case Overview and Preparation Application (COPA) system. Details of the areas where DfT funding has been allocated can be found at: <a href="http://maps.dft.gov.uk/funding-for-sustainable-travel/index.html" target="_blank">http://maps.dft.gov.uk/funding-for-sustainable-travel/index.html</a></p><p> </p><p>Southampton received £4.947m from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund between 2011 and 2016 for a range of measures to reduce carbon which included walking and cycling initiatives, and will receive a further £2.3m from the Access Fund between 2017 and 2020.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, Southampton Central station benefited from a £150,000 cycle-rail grant in 2012/13, and the Department has funded around £220,000 worth of Bikeability cycle training in Southampton over the last five years.</p><p> </p><p>Southampton has also received funding over the last five years through the Government’s Local Growth Fund, Highways Maintenance Block and the Integrated Transport Block. The Government intends later this year to set out its priorities for investment in train services and infrastructure in the next Control Period from 2019. This will be informed by advice from the rail industry, Transport for the North and other stakeholders.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is committed to ensuring that every part of Britain benefits from our investment in the railways. Improvements in rail services can be delivered by new trains, electrification or other infrastructure improvements – and passengers on the Hull to Selby railway line will benefit from new trains.
