answer text <p>The vehicle enquiry service provides general information about vehicles and not individuals. The information included is therefore not covered by the Data Protection Act 1998.</p><p> </p><p>The service was recently enhanced to include the taxation class and MoT status of vehicles. This was intended to help organisations to continue to provide the appropriate parking concessions and exemptions from certain tolls to users of vehicles in the disabled tax class, following the abolition of the tax disc.</p><p> </p><p>The term &quot;disabled&quot; describes a vehicle’s tax class and does not refer to a living individual. Views have been expressed about the potential impact on the privacy of individuals who may be linked with vehicles licensed in the disabled tax class. The DVLA has removed all tax classes from the vehicle enquiry service while these matters are being considered in discussion with the Information Commissioner’s Office.</p> more like this

Furthermore, between 2005 and 2011 Cycling England were responsible for investment in cycling, however they were not consultants. answer text <p><strong> </strong></p><p>While the Government does not believe that the Proposal was necessary in respect of a proven competitive market based port sector, the Government has negotiated to secure an outcome that ensures the continued commercial integrity of our highly competitive port sector. I am pleased to say that the general approach agreed by the Transport Council on 8 October does represent a great improvement in this regard, as compared with the Commission’s original Proposal, and takes account of several key UK industry concerns.</p><p> </p><p>I have had – and continue to have – extensive and detailed discussions with not only the UK Major Ports Group and British Ports Association, but with trade unions and others who are likely to be affected by the Proposal; and I discussed the matter personally with the outgoing Commissioner, Siim Kallas, ahead of Transport Council.</p><p>The Government remains committed to addressing the very real concerns of industry, its employees, suppliers and customers, and to securing the best deal for our port sector and I will continue to challenge Brussels to recognise the circumstances of our unique ports sector.</p><p> </p><p> </p>

answer text <p>The Department has not held direct discussions with the freight operating companies on this, as freight routeing is a matter for Network Rail, within the regulatory framework overseen by the Office of Rail Regulation. There are no current proposals to transfer all freight services from the Great Eastern Main Line to the Felixstowe to Nuneaton route; rather, the upgrading of the route from Felixstowe to Nuneaton is currently principally aimed at accommodating the anticipated growth in rail freight to and from the Port of Felixstowe.</p> more like this
