answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/11/2016 answer text <p>The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency deals with the front line enforcement of high polluting vehicles. This is primarily dealt with at the annual roadworthiness test, which DVSA administers, where exhaust emissions are checked once a vehicle becomes subject to testing due to its age. If the vehicle fails this test, the vehicle cannot be used on roads until the excess pollution is remedied. DVSA enforce emission outputs from the commercial vehicle fleet. When vehicles are seen to emit visual smoke, enforcement action is taken. To ensure the organisation receives a vehicle that best suits their requirements they have been able to specify the adaptions needed to the vehicle. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/10/2016 answer text <p>The Government is currently considering all the recommendations in the Law Commission’s report on taxi and private hire regulation in England and Wales and will formally respond to the Law Commission and announce its intentions once this scrutiny is completed.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has no current plans to amend legislation in respect of cross-border working. The Deregulation Act 2015 enables licensed operators in England and Wales to subcontract bookings to licensed operators in another district, any private hire vehicle operator in London or an operator in Scotland. This power was already possible in London through The Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/07/2016 answer text <p>During the last financial year, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) received a total of 191,715 reports from members of the public about vehicles that were potentially unlicensed. These reports are passed to NSL Services Ltd for action, as appropriate.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, the DVLA also provides NSL Services Ltd with information about vehicles which could potentially be non-compliant.
