This helped 400,000 people access safe water and sanitation; supplied 150,000 people with food packages; and supported over 6,000 families to rebuild their livelihoods.</p><p> </p><p><br> Since the beginning of the current military operation an additional one million people have registered as displaced. In response to this the UK has provided a further £4.7 million. This will support some of the most vulnerable people who have been identified by our partners in a joint assessment run by the UN and the Government of Pakistan. The UN Food and Agricultural Organisation/ World Food Programme Crop and Food Security Assessment Mission to the Democratic people’s Republic of Korea, 2013, reported an estimated uncovered food deficit of 40,000 tonnes for that marketing year. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/10/2014 answer text <p>The UK is supporting the Social Mobilisation Action Consortium (SMAC) as part of its response to Ebola in Sierra Leone. This consortium focuses on achieving behaviour change to address a range of high risk practices to prevent and contain the spread of Ebola. Partners of the consortium, who include the Centre for Disease Control, provide technical advice on how to avoid infection. As well as avoiding contact with blood and bodily fluids of an infected person and ensuring safe funeral practices, this includes taking steps not to eat or handle bushmeat. Working with partner humanitarian agencies DFID looks to ensure that the assistance and protection needs of children, especially the under -fives are addressed with urgency when a crisis occurs. As part of DFID’s regional response to the Syria crisis for example, DFID partners including UNICEF and specialist health NGOs are providing primary health services, including routine immunisation and malnutrition screening for under-5s. DFID is also funding child friendly spaces, which are accessible to accompanied under-5s, and services to unaccompanied and separated children.
