DFID assists countries to strengthen their health systems to ensure access to quality health services, medicines, and other essential commodities; save lives and improve women’s and children’s health, including sexual and reproductive health and rights; protect communities from health threats such as disease outbreaks and antimicrobial resistance; prevent and treat malnutrition; and tackle diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis and malaria that cause death and disability. As the second largest donor to the Global Fund, our funding contributed to the distribution of 197 million mosquito nets and the treatment of 108 million cases of malaria in 2017. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/11/2018 answer text <p>In 2018/19 the UK is providing £10m to support Tunisia through the North Africa Good Governance Fund (NAGGF). This money supports projects across priority sectors including the economy, education, governance and security.</p><p>For comparative purposes, at the start of the financial year, the UK allocated the following amounts from the NAGGF to support economic and political reform in the other countries of North Africa:</p><ul><li><p>Algeria: £6.5 million</p></li><li><p>Egypt: £9.5 million</p></li><li><p>Libya: £12 million</p></li><li><p>Morocco: £4 million</p></li></ul><p>Through the NAGGF, the UK also allocated £8 million for the provision of technical assistance to North African governments as well as for projects with a focus on regional co-operation.</p><p>This represents a substantial increase in the UK’s development investment in the region relative to previous years. These investments have supported nearly 10 million children of all faiths in primary and nearly 6 million in secondary schools. Our energy assistance is based on the requirements of individual developing countries, and often helps develop clean and renewable energy. This MoU set out the individual and shared commitments in the development partnership made between DFID and the PA during this time. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/11/2018 answer text <p>As part of our assessment of the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) commitment to the Partnership Principles, DFID officials assess the PA’s commitment to respecting human rights and other international obligations. This was most recently done in May 2018 as part of a formal annual meeting with the PA. The full Partnership Principles assessment is not public but I am happy to share a summary of the most recent assessment which concluded that the Palestinian Authority continues to demonstrate a credible commitment to the partnership principles under increasingly fragile and volatile conditions.</p><p> </p><p>We are aware of the serious and concerning allegations made in the recent Human Rights Watch (HRW) report about human rights violations by the PA.
