Over the last five years, all of our funding on malaria control, apart from the proportion which is spent on research and development of products and the funding for commodity procurement, contributes to strengthening health systems. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/11/2017 answer text <p>The World Health Organization tracks rates of malaria and publishes these in its annual World Malaria Report. <a href="http://www.who.int/malaria/publications/world-malaria-report-2016/report/en/" target="_blank">The latest available report</a>, published in 2016, contains data up to 2015 and showed a decline in malaria cases of 21% globally between 2010 and 2015. The 2017 report is expected to be published in late November and will include data for 2016. It results in people having to take time off work because of illness, worker absenteeism, and reduced worker productivity. These effects slow economic growth in malaria-endemic countries and have an impact on their ability to trade with countries including the UK.
