The recommendations in these reports represent a significant step forward in achieving parity of esteem between mental and physical health. We continue to work with NHS England and other arm’s length bodies to embed the recommendations set out in these reports into our national policies and we are committed to reporting regularly and transparently on our progress.</p><p>These reports are supported by additional investment for mental health of over £2 billion up to 2020. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/10/2016 answer text <p>No such estimate has been made.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises that e-cigarettes can help some smokers quit and the evidence indicates that they are considerably less harmful to health than cigarettes. Data on the long term harms of these products is not available and it is not clear how many users will go on to give up vaping as well. Smokers who continue to use tobacco alongside vaping will not benefit from the harm reduction offered by sole use of e-cigarettes.</p><p> </p><p>Data from Action on Smoking and Health indicates that around 2.8 million adults in Great Britain currently use electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes). Of these e-cigarette users, approximately 1.3 million are ex-smokers while 1.4 million continue to use tobacco alongside their e-cigarette use. In 2014, two thirds of e-cigarette users continued to use tobacco and one third were ex-smokers. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/12/2017 answer text <p>The Secretary of State announced on 12 October 2017 that the Government is planning to develop a state-backed indemnity scheme for general practice in England, subject to further work on relevant issues.</p><p> </p><p>We envisage the scheme would provide clinical negligence cover to providers of general practitioner (GP) services (e.g. GP contractors out-of-hours providers of GP services) through which the activities of individual GPs would be covered from the point the scheme is established. It would be available to all contractors who provide primary medical services: General Medical Services, Primary Medical Service and Alternative Provider Medical Services plus any other integrated urgent care delivered through NHS Standard Contracts. The cover would include the activities of practice staff including other medical professionals working for the practice in the provision of these contracted services, and students/trainees working in this area.</p><p> </p><p>Decisions have yet to be made about inclusion of doctors working in other public sector settings including prisons and the Ministry of Defence. In the event this is untrue, then the Commissioner may withhold payment of all or part of an Achievement Payment that is otherwise payable.</p><p> </p><p>QOF guidance also sets out the verification process in relation to QOF payments, including any requirements in relation to post payment verification. Medical exemption certificates are valid for a period of five years because, although many of the conditions on the list are lifelong, some can resolve over time and the patient’s entitlement should be reviewed by their clinician periodically.
