We examine every application on a case-by-case basis against strict Criteria, drawing on a range of sources in making assessments, including a range of NGOs and international organisations in addition to our diplomatic posts. The UK Government considers all our export applications thoroughly against a strict risk assessment framework and keep all licences under careful and continual review as standard. We rigorously examine each export licence application on a case-by-case basis against the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria. Risks around human rights violations or abuses are a key part of our assessment.
